Since it was formed in 1975, Alan Docking Racing (ADR) has established itself as one of the UK's most versatile teams, having participated in single-seater, sports car and saloon car racing at a national and international level. These days the team is best known for its achievements in British Formula 3, having evolved into one of the most accomplished teams of the current decade. ADR has also been responsible for the engineering side of the A1 Grand Prix Team Australia since the inauguration of this Championship in 2005. New ventures for the team this year include entry into the British Formula Ford Championship, and also side project ADRF (Alan Docking Racing Finland).
